
Purpose of the Role
The primary role of the Assistant Manager/Manager Business Development (Malaysia) is to execute K2’s strategic priorities and support the development & management of key K2 stakeholders in Malaysia. Work closely with the Director towards deepening K2’s engagement in Malaysia’s digital infrastructure ecosystem, with the underlying goal of enabling K2’s project and corporate success. The incumbent will also work closely with the Commercial (business development) HQ team, Management, Technical Design & Delivery team, Facilities Management and Project Consultants amongst others, to see through these strategic imperatives in Malaysia.
Responsibilities
• Support the regular engagement with relevant regulatory authorities for K2 data centre/connectivity/energy project(s), to enable on-site project success (e.g. land/site matters, pre- and post-construction matters). This includes working closely with K2 Commercial team, K2 Technical Design & Delivery team, K2 Facilities Management and Project Consultants to support:
o Managing and liaising with federal & state authorities, agencies and utilities on the application and documentation for land matters, site building, delivery and operations.
o Support project delivery management/construction-related activities for new data centre builds or general capital projects by being the bridge between K2 Commercial, K2 Technical Design & Delivery team and K2’s external stakeholders. This includes understanding land and utilities processes and proactively anticipating challenges to identify solutions for project success.
o Building the network and relationships locally as K2 continues to invest in Johor/Malaysia.
• Support the evaluation and execution of site selection and project risk assessment on design intent/purpose, delivery programme and cost optimization from the local country perspective. This may include:
o Presentations and proposals to K2 Management and/or external parties.
o Supporting HQ’s engagements with Malaysian stakeholders related to K2’s Finance, Tax, Human Resources, Customers and other key touchpoints etc.
• Support K2’s deepening presence in Malaysia’s digital economy/infrastructure ecosystem by:
o Cultivating relationships with key stakeholders to enable K2’s competitive advantage, positive brand image, and pipeline of new business opportunities.
o Proactively leading, organizing, participating and hosting site visits, digital infrastructure-related industry events & forums etc. including organizing and managing K2-led events.
o Preparing K2 Management for engaging key Malaysian stakeholders including regular updates to K2 HQ with relevant market intelligence, regulatory/policy changes and impact assessment.
o Performing other duties as assigned or instructed.

Skill Sets and Qualification Requirement
• Degree holder preferred
• 5 years’ minimum in sales, business management and government affairs, customers and key stakeholder management and experience in drafting proposals, presentations, data centre setup and business development process and model. Understanding and analysis of commercial agreements is an added bonus.
• Proficiency in MS Office (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
• Flexibility to travel within Malaysia, regular presence in Johor is expected.
• Good command of written and spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia. Ability to translate fluently and possessing additional language skills such as Chinese will be an advantage.
