
Job Summary
The E&I Inspector is responsible for ensuring all electrical and instrumentation installation works are executed in compliance with approved drawings, project specifications, international standards, and class requirements. The role involves coordinating with classification societies, third-party inspectors, ship superintendents, and internal teams to ensure quality control throughout all project phases.
This position oversees incoming material inspections, in-process and final inspections, testing activities, and proper documentation (ITR). The E&I Inspector also ensures safety compliance, supports final surveys with class and owners, and verifies that all inspection reports are properly documented and signed off in a timely manner.
Key Responsibilities

To carry out, coordinate and arrange the job / activities as requested by department objective.

Coordinate and liaise with classification societies, third party inspection agencies, ship superintendents and other trades to ensure adherence to related Standard.

Ensure that the work carried out complies with international construction codes and project specification.

Material and equipment incoming inspection.

Perform in-process and final inspection on E&I and other jobs in shop and onboard.

Verify that the E&I are installed according to approved plans.

Do internal inspection and lead to carry out final survey and acceptance with class surveyor and owner representatives.

Ensure quality inspection safety precaution.

To ensure ITP is strictly followed and inspection and testing are carried-out in a timely manner.

Prepare ITR.

To ensure inspection report with proper documentation and confirmed signed by Client and Class.

Key Requirements

Diploma or Degree in Engineering, Science, or a relevant Industrial discipline.

Certified E&I Inspector; CompEx or IECEx certification is preferred.

Minimum 5 years’ experience as an E&I Inspector in a shipyard, oil & gas, or related industry.

Conversant with applicable inspection methods, testing techniques, and relevant standards.

Strong understanding of E&I installation and inspection works, including cable termination, cable glanding, earthing/grounding, continuity testing, insulation resistance (megger) testing, loop checking, and verification of Ex-rated equipment.

Good command of English with effective written and verbal communication skills.

Strong planning, coordination, and execution capabilities.
