Job Summary
The HSE Engineer is responsible for ensuring compliance with workplace health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations by promoting a safe working environment, identifying and mitigating workplace risks, and supporting the implementation of HSE policies and procedures. The role conducts site inspections, incident investigations, HSE training, and safety campaigns, while coordinating with management to drive continuous improvement in HSE performance and foster a strong safety culture across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible to exercise general supervision of the observance to Workplace Safety and Health, Environmental Pollution, and to promote safe conduct of work and reduce environmental impact within the Company.
- Shall assist the Company management to identify and assess any foreseeable risk arising from the workplace or work processes.
- Shall recommend reasonably practicable measures to eliminate foreseeable risk to any Person at work in that workplace or may be affected by the Company undertaking in the workplace.
- Shall assist the HSE Manager to implement the measure or Safe Work Procedure for continual improvement on HSE performance.
- Shall prepare HSE Department daily Manpower Distribution Plan when assigned as a duty Engineer.
- Shall be the Secretary for the WSH Sub-committee when assigned by HSE Manager.
- Shall coordinate HSE matters with Company Management whenever necessary
- Shall organize promotions, campaigns, contests and other HSE activities
- Carry out daily site inspection to ensure workplace is safe to work
- Conduct HSE Trainings and briefings when required
- Carry out incident investigations and propose corrective actions to Company Managements
Key Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of HSE experience, preferably in the Shipyard, Marine, Offshore, or Oil & Gas industry.
- Possess a valid AK3 Umum (Kemnaker RI) certification.
- Certified ISO 45001/ISO 14001 Lead Auditor is an advantage.
- Good knowledge of HSE regulations, risk assessment, incident investigation, and environmental management.
- Experience in conducting HSE inspections, safety training, and implementing Safe Work Procedures (SWP).
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
