Job Summary

HSE Engineer (ERT Lead) is responsible for leading and coordinating all emergency response activities within the shipyard. This role ensures preparedness for fire, medical, rescue, and environmental emergencies by conducting regular drills, maintaining equipment readiness, and training team members. The ERT Team Lead also works closely with HSE, Security, and Operations teams to implement safety protocols, investigate incidents, and ensure compliance with shipyard safety standards and regulatory requirements. Strong leadership, quick decision-making, and a proactive safety mindset are essential in this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as Incident Commander or Team Leader during emergencies, ensuring a swift, safe, and coordinated response.
  • Liaise with local authorities (fire department, hospital, police, etc.) for coordinated emergency actions.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain emergency response plans, procedures, risk assessments and standard operating guidelines (SOGs)
  • Document all incidents and lead post-incident debriefs and investigations.
  • Lead, train, and supervise ERT members to ensure readiness and competence in all emergency response functions
  • Maintain training records and ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Plan and execute regular emergency drills and tabletop exercises.
  • Inspect, maintain, and ensure readiness of firefighting and emergency response equipment.
  • Prepare incident reports, after-action reviews, and recommendations for improvement.
  • Analyse incident trends and identify opportunities to enhance emergency preparedness.
  • Support audits, inspections, and compliance reporting related to emergency management.

Key Requirements

  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in emergency response or firefighting, preferably within the marine, oil & gas, or heavy industry sectors.
  • Diploma or bachelor’s degree in occupational health & safety, Fire Safety, Engineering, or related field.
  • Experienced with Dinas Pemadam Kebakaran dan Penyelamatan (Disdamkarmat) (Indonesia Fire and Rescue Service Department) will be an added advantage.
  • Level A (HSE Fire Expert) or Level B (Unit Coordinator).
  • Certification from Badan Nasional Sertifikasi Profesi (BNSP) in fire-safety/fire-fighting competencies, aligned with SKKNI (Indonesian National Work Competency Standards (Added Advantage).
