Job Summary
The Manager, Project is responsible for the overall planning, coordination, execution, and successful delivery of vessel repair, newbuilding, conversion, and green recycling projects. The role ensures that all project activities are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in full compliance with contractual requirements, quality standards, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations.
This position is open to both local and foreign candidates who meet the required qualifications and relevant work experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for overall coordination of all activities of the repair/new build projects to achieve timely completion, in line with occupational health and safety, environment, quality, productivity and commercial aspects.
- Responsible for Budget Control and Project Schedule.
- Ensure effective delegation and control of resources for optimum productivity.
- Ensure compliance with contracts, specifications, regulatory, company, quality, environment, occupational health and safety standards and procedures.
- Liaise and coordinate with regulatory bodies, clients, consultants, contractors, and internally within the company to satisfy their needs within commercial controls.
- Ensure company and project milestones, and commercial controls are achieved by effective planning, logistics, and execution.
- Provide comprehensive inputs to Planning department, not limited to equipment, materials, processes, activities, manpower, and ownership of project plan.
- Control and monitor techno-commercial progress in relation to base line plan.
- Identify bottlenecks, highlight possible delays in advance, propose and execute corrective and preventive actions.
- Control and monitoring of variation orders, and coordination with Commercial department.
- Main focal point and in-charge of all activities of LNGC repair and newbuild.
- Chair daily VSCC meeting.
- To follow the Safety Rules and Regulation set refer to Occupational Health & Safety Policy and Environmental Policy by the yard
Key Requirements
- Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, or a related discipline, or an equivalent qualification.
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in the marine industry, preferably within a shipyard environment.
- Background as a Marine Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, Naval Architect, or equivalent hands-on shipyard experience.
- Proven experience managing LNG carrier (LNGC) repair and/or newbuilding projects in a Project Manager capacity.
- Strong knowledge of shipyard production processes, construction methods, and trade activities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities with the capability to lead cross-functional project teams.
