Job Summary
Senior Engineer, Hull & Outfitting responsible for preparing and reviewing hull and outfitting engineering designs, drawings, 3D models, and technical calculations to support production, projects, and commercial activities. Coordinate with internal teams, clients, classification societies, and vendors to ensure designs comply with project requirements and industry standards, while providing technical guidance to junior engineers and supporting project execution and engineering progress.
Key Responsibilities
- Generate conceptual, studies and detailed analysis as per required by production, project or commercial with regards to structure and steel outfitting
- Assist team lead managing production drawing issuance based on approved scope and approved schedule
- Ensure that the production drawing is created based on detail drawing or basic drawing
- Liaise with other department, owner, class and vendor for the design requirement and details
- Liaise with class society to provide economical technical design and solution
- Apply and develop yard standard to match with class rules and owner specification
- Perform & checking 3D modelling and 2D structure and outfitting for submission to asst. manager
- Perform & checking structural local analysis and foundation calculation report and submit to team lead for approval
- Create and check METO created by engineer or assistant engineer
- Create and check TA for outfitting item
- Provide training for assistant engineer and engineer with regards to structure and steel outfitting knowledge, class rules and general standard
- Assist team lead to provide manpower input and project execution & bulk material study for commercial tendering based on request by commercial department
- Attend weekly or monthly project meeting and coordinate with relevant party to close the issue on behalf of assistant manager
- Perform engineering drawing check on drawing provide by drafter, assistant engineer, engineer prior submission to assistant manager
- Assist Team lead to provide data for overall engineering weekly or monthly progress report
Key Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree/Diploma (D3/D4) in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, or related discipline
- Min. 7 years of experience in shipbuilding, ship repair, offshore, or marine engineering projects.
- Proficient in AVEVA Marine, AutoCAD, and other relevant engineering software
- Experience in structural design, Production drawing development, welding, weight estimation, construction support and classification rules/Marine regulations.
- Ability to review engineering drawings and technical documents independently.
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English
- Experience in coordinating with clients, classification societies and production teams
Education
Bachelors in Naval Architect
