Job Summary

This individual is responsible for providing support and guidance on all aspects of health, safety, environmental, and energy management across our operational data centres and construction sites. The role ensures compliance with statutory requirements, company standards, and international management system frameworks including ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and ISO 50001.

 

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, analytical ability, and communication skills with a proactive approach to continual improvement in EHS and energy performance.

 

The position is based in Ireland and reports directly to the Global EHS Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advise management on Environmental, Health, Safety, and Energy (EHSE) requirements, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and international standards.
  • Conduct workplace risk and environmental/energy assessments, implementing effective control measures to reduce risks and optimize energy efficiency.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain EHSE practices, policies, and procedures in compliance with local regulations and ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and ISO 50001 standards.
  • Identify significant energy uses (SEUs) within facilities, establish performance indicators, and lead initiatives to improve energy efficiency and reduce consumption.
  • Collaborate with Technical/Facilities and Operations teams to monitor energy performance data and recommend energy-saving opportunities.
  • Support the integration of energy management into daily operations, including procurement, maintenance, and equipment selection.
  • Investigate and analyze workplace accidents or environmental incidents preparing incident investigation reports and recommending corrective actions.
  • Liaise with regulatory authorities such as HSA, EPA, and energy agencies to ensure full compliance with HSE and energy-related legislation and conditions of licenses.
  • Develop and deliver HSE and energy awareness training programs for staff and contractors.
  • Lead the Health, Safety & Energy Committee, maintaining relevant documentation and promoting active engagement across teams.
  • Conduct audits and inspections on HSE and energy management systems, providing corrective actions and improvement plans.
  • Prepare and analyze energy and carbon performance reports, supporting the company’s sustainability goals.
  • Support the Management Representative in maintaining ISO certifications and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Organize and conduct emergency drills and exercises to ensure preparedness for potential incidents, including energy resilience and business continuity considerations.
  • Lead efforts to monitor environmental compliance, including managing scheduled waste in line with regulatory environmental requirements.
  • Participate in sustainability reporting and coordinate data collection for greenhouse gas (GHG) inventories and energy intensity metrics.

 

Working Environment

  • The job role will involve working day-to-day in our operational facilities or on our construction site.
  • The job may also from time to time involve travelling to our HQ in Singapore or to other future facilities within Europe.

Key Requirements

  • Minimum Diploma in Occupational Safety and Health or equivalent.
  • Additional qualifications in Environmental Science, Energy Management, or Sustainability are highly desirable.
  • Certified Energy Manager (CEM) or equivalent certification preferred.
  • 10–15 years of experience in EHS and/or Energy Management, preferably in the construction, data centre, or high-hazard industries.
  • Demonstrated experience with ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and ISO 50001 implementation and certification.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in energy performance monitoring, data analysis, and reporting.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong leadership, initiative, and ability to drive change across multiple functions and regions.
  • Must have skills to establish relationships with people at all levels in the organization. It is important that they can stimulate others to take action and work towards the EHSE goals of the organization.
  • Strong personality with a commanding presence and unwavering commitment to safety, holding others accountable while fostering a culture of responsibility and compliance.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to successfully conduct trainings, facilitate team meetings, update people on safety-related issues, and provide relevant reports.
  • Ability to work independently and is self-motivated.
