Job Summary
We are seeking a data-driven and organized Crewing Intern to join our team. In this role, you will bridge the gap between traditional maritime crewing operations and modern digital solutions. You will be instrumental in developing Power BI dashboards, digitalizing manual processes, and supporting the coordination of high-level senior officer engagements. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in maritime human resources while driving meaningful digitalization initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Digitalization & Data Analytics
- Cadet Dashboard Creation: Design and develop a comprehensive Power BI dashboard to track, visualize, and analyse cadet deployment, performance, and training matrices.
- QMR Injury & Illness Trend Visualization: Build and maintain an analytics dashboard tracking Quality Management Review (QMR) safety data to identify trend lines in crew injuries and illnesses.
- Process Automation: Spearhead the digitalization of manual crewing and briefing forms to streamline data collection and improve workflow efficiency.
- Crewing Operations & Event Coordination
- Top 4 Pre-Joining Briefings: Coordinate logistics and schedules for pre-joining briefings for senior officers (Masters, Chief Officers, Chief Engineers, and Second Engineers).
- Quarterly MRM Reports: Assist in compiling, formatting, and preparing data for the Quarterly Management Review (MRM) reports.
- Long Service Awards: Support the execution and coordination of the company’s Long Service Awards to recognize and celebrate seafarer loyalty.
- Documentation & Quality Compliance
- CMM 2.3 Review & Revisions: Assist the crewing team in reviewing and updating Crew Management Manual (CMM) procedures, specifically focused on CMM 2.3 compliance and revisions.
- Meeting Documentation: Attend departmental meetings, accurately capture discussions, and draft professional meeting minutes for distribution.
Key Requirements
- Currently pursuing a Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Maritime Studies, Human Resource Management, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
- A strong interest in shipping operations, crewing, and data-driven process optimization.
- Proficient in Microsoft Power BI (data modelling, visualization, and dashboard creation). Training can be provided on the job.
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365 applications, including Power Apps, Microsoft Forms, and SharePoint.
- Strong command of MS Excel for data cleaning, sorting for analysis.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for professional interaction with senior officers and stakeholders.
- High attention to detail, particularly regarding documentation accuracy (CMM revisions, minutes).
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities to handle both analytical tasks and event coordination.
Education
Bachelors in Maritime Studies or Information Technology
Diploma in Maritime Studies or Information Technology
