Roles and responsibilities:

 

Crewing

 

  • Manage and oversee day-to-day crewing operations / activities
  • Supervise local Crewing Team in daily crewing operations / activities
  • Ensure that crewing requirements of SSAV fleet are met, in accordance to clients’/charters’ and operations expectations
  • Review and streamline crewing operations to align to HQ’s policy and procedure and to optimise crew mob/demob and related costs
  • Ensure that crew line-up to join ship hold valid documents and certificates, complying to company and charter’s certification and training requirements
  • Ensure that crew line-up to join ship hold required valid visa / work passes / permits to join ship
  • Manage and ensure that Crewing Team update and maintain crew profile and documentation in crew management system (Compas) promptly and accurately per KPI
  • Approve crew movements, flights bookings, employment contracts and payroll in crew management and crew payroll systems
  • Liaise and coordinate closely with Payroll Team (for international and Brazil crew) on payment of crew wages and reimbursements/claims promptly and without error
  • Manage and liaise with Insurance Team on crew P&I matters
  • Actively participate in crew engagement (eg seminar, workshop, briefings, ship visits)
  • Actively engage with internal and external stakeholders; crewing focal point with labour unions, lawyers and vendors
  • Review and lead Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) negotiations with unions and implementation of CBA after sign-off   
  • Review and approve purchase orders and associated invoices for crew ops/mob/demob in-line with presented budget and per FAL
  • Develop team members skills and competencies
  • Any other crewing related functions assigned by Function and BU Head.

 

Onshore HR

 

  • Act as the onshore HR point of contact for the local Brazil team, alongside crewing duties.
  • Support onshore employee relations, performance management, and day-to-day HR queries.
  • Coordinate onboarding, offboarding, and contract administration for onshore staff.
  • Advise local management on Brazilian labour law compliance and HR policy application.
  • Liaise with HQ Talent Acquisition, Talent Management, and L&D on onshore hiring, development, and training needs.
  • Support local payroll and benefits administration for onshore employees.

 

Requirements:

 

  • Degree in HR / Crew Management preferred
  • 8+ years in Crewing / HR operations (offshore vessels), including team management.
  • Good knowledge of international crewing regulations including flag state requirements, STCW, ILO, MLC2006
  • Strong team orientation and ability to manage cross cultural crew and relationships in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
  • Good written and communication skills
  • Fluent in Portuguese and English
  • Good interpersonal and social skills
