Key Responsibilities

  • Reporting to the Senior Manager, Internal Audit, you will lead financial, operational, regulatory compliance, enterprise risk, and other audit engagements.
  • This includes reviewing and advising on the adequacy and effectiveness of (i) the control framework, and (ii) controls over financial, operational, regulatory, and strategic processes within the audit scope.
  • During the planning phase, you will perform risk assessments and develop audit programmes. In the fieldwork phase, you will lead the team in conducting interviews, evaluating the design and effectiveness of processes and controls in risk mitigation, and identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Data analytics is a key component of the role. You will be expected to identify root causes of issues, develop practical recommendations, and, where possible, quantify risks (e.g. financial exposure, operational, regulatory, and reputational impact).
  • You will develop and articulate value-adding recommendations to effectively mitigate identified risks and follow up to ensure implementation by Business Units and Corporate Functions. You will also present audit findings at closing meetings, prepare final audit reports for issuance, and present to the Audit Committee where required.
  • In addition, you will support selected advisory engagements, such as special reviews, enterprise risk management initiatives, and the implementation of new processes or tools. Emerging focus areas include ESG. You will also contribute to promoting control awareness through training sessions and workshops.

You are expected to actively contribute and collaborate to deliver high-quality assurance and advisory support that enables the business.

Key Requirements

  • Minimum 7 years of relevant internal audit experience, preferably with a mix of commercial organisations and professional firms, and a proven track record in leading audit engagements.
  • Knowledge of the maritime, data centre, and real estate industries would be advantageous.
  • Confident and proactive individual who engages stakeholders, facilitates discussions, and explores alternative approaches and scenarios. A collaborative, self-driven team player who operates in a systematic and structured manner, with the ability to work independently and build strong working relationships with key stakeholders. Demonstrates the ability to see the bigger picture while maintaining attention to detail, consistently delivering high-quality output within agreed timelines.
  • Possess the right mindset and resilience to effectively lead engagements and deliver impactful work in a fast-paced environment.  Expected to be able to multi-task. 
  • An excellent command of written and spoken English is a pre-requisite and should also be evident through good report writing skills. 
  • Approximately 15%-20% overseas travelling is expected.

 

Education and Key certifications necessary

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related discipline.
  • Possess a professional accounting or audit qualification such as Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Chartered Accountant (CA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA). 
  • Working knowledge on SAP is a must.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and data analytics tools (e.g., AI tools, Power BI, IDEAs, advanced Excel), with the ability to analyse large datasets to generate meaningful, actionable insights to support audit engagements.
