The Senior Commercial Manager serves as the commercial lead for all proposals, reporting directly to the Head of Commercial. You'll be responsible for every commercial aspect of the proposals and tender process, this includes:
- Leading cost estimation, risk assessment, and financial analysis.
- Managing and preparing all commercial and contractual deliverables.
- Ensuring the accuracy and quality of the final submissions.
- Coordinating with all internal and external parties to ensure timely and accurate submission.
- Beyond tender management, you will also be a key contributor to developing and executing commercial strategies that drives business growth. This will include:
- Identifying new business opportunities, markets, and potential partnerships.
- Analyzing market trends and competitor activities to ensure we remain competitive and profitable.
Responsibilities
- Establish and manage a proposals and tendering platform to ensure a structured, effective approach. This includes developing and managing a framework for budgets, schedules, and administrative controls that align with commercial processes and client requirements.
- Oversee the commercial risk management process. This involves identifying and assessing key tender risks and making informed recommendations to mitigate them.
- Develop accurate and highly competitive cost estimates for all assigned tenders. This includes conducting reviews necessary to finalize all cost estimates and detailed competitor analysis to ensure our pricing strategy is effective.
- Actively collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop, communicate, and implement a clear and effective tender strategy for a successful outcome.
- Assist the Head of Commercial in preparing all necessary materials, ensuring they are ready for bid reviews with key stakeholders, including Risk Subcommittee and the Board of Directors.
- Ensure client’s requirements are identified and fully understood by assigning the review of all tender documents to commercial team members.
- Coordinate and consolidate all deliverables from all supporting functions (Project Management, Onshore and Offshore Operations, Engineering, HSEQ, SCM, Logistics, Tax and legal & contracts, Finance and Insurance) in a timely and constructive manner.
- Develop and maintain an effective and collaborative interface with client and JV/Consortium partners throughout the tender process.
- Monitor the tender progress and tender lifecycle and coordinate all tender deliverables until the timely submission of a compliant tender and actively support discussion and negotiation with client post submission.
- Lead negotiations for commercial contracts with clients, suppliers, and partners, ensuring contract terms are favorable, legally sound, and minimize risk.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and the development of tendering tools and guidelines.
- Organize a tender feedback session, both internally and with client, as required.
- Support business development teams by providing strategic input to help grow the business in line with overall company goals.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or an equivalent relevant qualification.
- Preferably with 10 years of experience in subsea engineering, operations, or a commercial role within the energy sector preferred
- Candidates with prior experience in leading tendering teams in subsea, mooring and/or offshore construction environment will be preferred.

- Ability to prioritize tasks effectively while maintaining a sharp attention to detail.
