Job Summary
Plan and execute (Manpower planning, Cost control, Attend Vessel Issue, achieve department target & KPI)
Key Responsibilities
- Read and understand technical specifications, prepare job-list, work schedule, plan MTO and manpower planning of yard men and sub-contractor for each given jobs.
- Manpower planning, materials preparation, including all facilities required.
- Order the material required as per MTO and co-ordinate with purchase department for orders and timely delivery of the materials
- Cooperate with project manager on appropriate procedures and schedule to complete the job on site.
- Ensure safety and discipline for all subordinates.
- Carry out Steel work as per specifications and to the satisfaction of the owner/class & timely completion. Ensure good quality work and perfect safety. Ensure all trade work mark-up drawings to be made and approved by owner’s representative
- Desire to always maintain good housekeeping and Safety on board vessel & workshop. Ensure all workers always follow safe work procedures.
- Responsible for minimum wastage of materials and balance material to be accounted and returned to store at the end of the project.
- Prepare and review department documents (RA, SOP, Internal & External auditing, OR) with supervisor and manager
- Lead group of foremen, yard workers and sub-contractors.
- Ensuring optimum work processes and equipment utilization.
- Understand all jobs given, supervise and give detail instructions to subordinates and contractors.
- Completion of all work completion reports, verify & submit to owner Rep for approval before handing over to commercial department on time. (before vessel delivery)
- Monitoring vessel daily job deployment report to achieve target on time.
- Perform other related jobs as assigned by DH.
- Understand all jobs given supervise and give detail instructions to subordinates and contractors report to department engineer or department head.
- To undertake other tasks as directed by department head Plan out and prepare all permits to work system related to marine safety, prepare risk analysis (RA), conduct RA briefing before starting work.
- Prepare tools, equipment, transportation, materials and manpower, control man hours for all given jobs.
- Ensure subcontractors work order to be raised immediately after confirmation of jobs
- Check and ensure all repair plans to be submitted to owner and class and original to submit to the Project Manager
Key Requirements
- 5 years and above of extensive experience in shipbuilding and ship repair, specializing in welding related work.
- Conducting quality checks and ensuring compliance with standards.
- Interpreting technical drawings and hull standards.
